It's Merlin time

I couldn't watch live because I was eating berry crumble with my parents but I think it's actually better to watch a download because I won't have to put up with a shitty stream and I can review while I watch.
So am I wrong or does anyone who conquers a kingdom get to be king anyway? Why did they need the whole royal bloodline thing? Oh logic.
Oh Leon. Your hair is a mess darling. Morgana makes evil look so flawless and beautiful once again. And she's there with all her bitches. Gwen and Morgause and everyone.
Merlin and Gwaine hiding in a cave with Gaius. Oh those poor boys. And Arthur is there too being depressed. By the way what is up with Morgana's crest? It looks like something the Blacks would come up with.
Oh my god for a moment I thought Leon was gonna die. But then the people died. WTF. Not cool Morgana. But I must admire what she did there. It's not easy to find good knights after all. Although knights that you force to serve you aren't really that helpful. Oh well.
I gotta agree with Morgana that Uther killed a lot of innocents too. She is just too evil though. I find myself feeling sorry for Uther. And ugh cheesy line "You can not begin to imagine how much I hate you" I actually got second hand embarrassment shivers.
Aw Merlin is trying to pep talk Arthur. But Arthur is sad about Uther not telling him about Morgana being his half-sister. I think there are bigger problems here Arthur. Although I'm begining to think Arthur is sulking because of all the UST he and Morgana had in season 1 when no one told them that was kinda wrong.
Seriously Morgana telling Gwen that your forgot that Uther killed her father isn't exactly going to endear you "LOL I FORGOT YOU'RE AN ORPHAN. Go on." And seriously does Morgana really think Gwen is on her side? I mean it's slightly less obvious than her being evil in this season.
And suddenly Leon seems to be really tight with Gwen. I might begin to ship it if Lancelot doesn't show up. I took lessons with Morgana is blackmail you see. Oh and Morgause and Morgana aren't as dumb as I thought although Gwen is. At least make sure you're alone or talk quieter. Or secret message. Seriously.
Gaius and Merlin have remembered their plot point! The water. Merlin tries some magic. Then he spills the water. BUT IT'S ALL GOOD. He gets a Leia to Obi Wan message. And Freya did have a purpose other than distract us from Merlin's love for Arthur. She tells him that he's their only hope (no seriously, well it's implied) and that he needs to go find Excalibur. Knew that would come back to haunt him. It's not a good relationship Merlin.
I have a question? Why has Morgana suddenly started up on Morgause's eyeliner fetish? And putting roofies in Gwen's drink? Oh Morgana you truly deserve to be credited as "EVIL MORGANA". Meanwhile Gwen tries to get on with her plan and does a good job at copying the key middle ages style. She is a blacksmith's daughter and forges a new key. Although I'm not sure that dress with that corst is meant to be worn when performing these tasks.
Merlin again calls up his dragon because that's the trick that's worked before. The dragon is not pleased. And he's not a horse. Hermione, Harry and Ron tend to disagree about riding dragons. It reminds me a bit of that talking horse in Narnia (The Horse And Its Boy?) that deigned to let the boy ride it. It's degrading but they'll allow it for now. Oh and dragon again warns about wrong hands wielding the sword. Remind me again if anything bad happened when Uther used it? I don't think so.
Merlin rides in some boat that looks a little like half of a walnut. It's kinda small but it does the trick and Merlin looks cute in it. An arm comes out of the water and bring Merlin the sword. We don't see how he actually gets the sword without overrunning the person that the arm belongs to but there you go.
Meanwhile in Camelot Gwen helps Leon escape. With crossdressing! I approve. Morgause does the Hansel and Gretel spell and a breadcrumb trail is left for the sisters to follow. Gwen had changed into her stylish outdoor wear that would be much better suited for doing blacksmith work. And Leon is taking his clothes off. I also wonder how they made those new crest stiches on the clothing of the knights. Or is that Cenred's crest? Oh well. Suddenly Arthur, Merlin and Gwaine are almost found. Where Gaius is no one knows or cares.
Elyan comes running and apparently Gaius is in the cave. Merlin tells him to go ahead and gets his sword and does some fighting with a knight that ends with the knight exploding. Fun! Arthur and the gang are saved by some boulders that actually Lancelot rolled. And there's that one guy from the preview pictures. Percival! He's kinda adorable. And the love triangle begins again.
Morgause and Morgana want to use force to make the people see sense. And execute the knights. Arthur and his gang meanwhile goes to an abandoned castle that belonged to the "ancient kings" why they left it is not explained but I suspect there was some kind of attack or it was destroyed or maybe not close enough to the next supermarket.
And we find the round table! The knights join Arthur as does Gwen because this is all foreshadowing. Except Gaius because he's not a knight of the round table. Right? And Arthur wants to rescue his father. GREAT IDEA ARTHUR...NOT. Just let that idiot die. Lancelot the only code they taught you was that knights have to be nobel. Why would you save Uther who threw you out? But I guess it's all very touching. Everyone loves Arthur after all. Percival remains so adorable it makes Arthur cry. The only one who didn't stand up is Merlin. I'm sad that Arthur said he didn't have a choice. He should have voluntered :( Meh
Arthur makes everyone a knight with Excalibur and it's all very symbolic in a making knights like it's an assembly line. But they're a noble army and all that. Noble death certianly. Lancelot is a knight at last but he's heard that one before and it usually doesn't last much longer than a bad marriage in Vegas. But Merlin feels the need to tell Lancelot about the cup of life and he's happy Lancelot knows about magic. Lancelot says everything Merlin wants to hear about Arthur not appreciating Merlin enough and it's kinda seductive.
Arthur stakes his claim on Gwen. Because duh Lancelot. No I'm kidding it's actually quiet a sweet scene. Lancelot is sad though. Can't blame him. Let me hug you Lancelot.
Suddenly Gaius is gone and Gwen is all alone. Well Gaius has been looking suspicious the whole episode long. Merlin impresses Lancelot with his special sword while Gwaine distracts the wardens and together with Elyan and Leon they lock them in. There's lots of fighting and I'm not really taking note of who is doing what mission with who anymore. Sue me.
Uther seems to be a broken man. It's what we always knew. Morgana's betrayal would be the worst thing of all. Meanwhile lots of fighting. Uther being broken. Exploding knights. Lancelot being wounded. Arthur fighting like he's posessed. Lancelot is badly hurt. Falls. Merlin steps in. Explodes the last knight. Runs to get the cup of life. Morgause is faster and hits him with some kind of spell. Everything seems lost.
But Arthur says they'll go down fighting for the love of Camelot. Gaius blasts Morgause.I'm wondering. Did we always knew he can do magic? It was obvious from the first episode to me but I'm not really sure. Morgause head cracks with a truly sickening sound and Merlin renders the cup useless. Morgana storms in and is devastated about Morgause dying. All hell breaks lose and when she lets her magic run wild. She makes a really horrible sound while doing so. My ears.
Uther in the meanwhile looks about 20 years older and like he's truly broken. Gwaine is thanfully alive though. And he kinda does the Jack Sparrow thing with the added sir.
Arthur bumps Merlin's should because it's how he shows affection (Avatar reference!). Merlin thinks it's time for Arthur to take charge. And become king. Arthur is cryptic about it. He doesn't really want to think about king business. He wants to welcome his knights and his future queen.
Apparently Morgana disappeared with Morgause's body. Bets of her trying to bring her back to life next season? Anyone? Merlin gets praised by Gaius because no one else will and then leaves to dispose of Excalibur. That Arthur doesn't mind his sword going missing and then appearing again. Oh well a sword is a sword to him I guess. And there's an epic moment because we all know the story of whoever pulls the sword out will be crowned next king of England. So basically Merlin sticks the sword in a rock.
THAT'S IT. That's Merlin for this year. Now let's have a good cry.
